What Is a Linux VPS?

A Linux VPS is a virtual private server running Linux. A hypervisor splits one powerful physical server into separate virtual machines, and the CPU, RAM and NVMe storage assigned to yours are not shared with anyone. You get your own kernel, your own IP address and full root access.

It sits between a small hosting plan and a dedicated server: far more control and steadier performance, at a fraction of the cost of a whole machine.

Every HostSoch Linux VPS runs on VMware as a real virtual machine, not a container — so Docker, WireGuard and custom kernel modules behave exactly as they should.

Why Choose a Linux VPS?

  • Built for real traffic

CPU and RAM set aside for your VPS keep busy sites and apps responsive when load climbs.

  • Complete control

Root access lets you install, configure and tune whatever your stack needs.

  • Pick your distribution

AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu, Debian, CentOS Stream — or upload your own ISO.

  • Host every site

No cap on domains or websites on a VPS, and no charge per site.

  • NVMe throughout

Every Linux plan uses NVMe SSD for quick database queries and file access.

  • Genuine virtual machines

VMware VMs with your own kernel, so Docker and WireGuard run without workarounds.

  • Your own nameservers

Set up branded private nameservers on your VPS for your domains or clients.

  • Engineers on call

Phone, chat and tickets around the clock when something needs a hand.

Linux VPS FAQs

Pricing, managed vs unmanaged, distributions, storage and upgrades. Ask our team if your question isn't here.

What is a Linux VPS?

It is a virtual machine running Linux, with its own share of CPU, RAM and NVMe storage on a physical server. You get your own kernel, a dedicated IP and root access — most of the control of a dedicated server for far less money.

How much does a Linux VPS cost?

Managed plans start at ₹249 a month and unmanaged plans at ₹350 a month. Both are the effective monthly rate on 3-year billing; monthly and yearly rates are shown at checkout. Prices exclude GST.

Managed or unmanaged — which should I choose?

Go unmanaged if you are comfortable with SSH, updates, firewall rules and backups and want the most RAM and disk for your money. Go managed if you would like our engineers to install the control panel, patch the OS, set up the firewall and fix server-level problems.

Which Linux distributions can I install?

AlmaLinux, Rocky Linux, Ubuntu LTS, Debian and CentOS Stream are ready to deploy, and you can also supply your own ISO.

Will I have full root access?

Yes, on managed and unmanaged plans alike. Install any software, change kernel settings and configure the server however you need.

Can I host unlimited domains?

Yes. There is no limit on domains or websites — only the CPU, RAM and disk of your plan.

What kind of storage is used?

NVMe SSD on every Linux VPS plan. There is no SATA SSD or hard-disk tier.

Are backups included?

Backups are an optional paid add-on. We can set up Acronis or Comet for you, or help you configure your own off-site backups with tools such as restic or rclone.

Can I upgrade later?

Yes. CPU, RAM and disk can be increased on your existing VPS, usually with just a short reboot.

Where are the servers?

In data centres in Mumbai and Delhi NCR.

Ready for a fast Linux VPS?

NVMe storage, DDoS protection, full root and free migration — from ₹249 a month.
